maybe i should have posted this in here....
just updated cvs and tried to compile and got this error...
unknown error. could not find c:xbmc\release\xbmc.map
has anyone else tried to compile today or has something gone amiss at my end?
just built with fresh checkout and no such issues here

this is really odd.... i did a build only yesterday and everything was fine. i've tried deleting and redownloading the whole cvs and still no joy... will try repairing/reinstalling visual studio and "other stuff"... to see if that helps.... should there be files in the release folder prior to compiling cos mines empty after a fresh checkout? thanks for your help.

sorry bout that.... seems i'd aquired two viruses (after a scan with symantec av) that were resposible for the problem.... or perhaps iconpackager that i was mucking around with last night and had forgot to uninstall.... not had a virus in months... always think it's gonna happen to someone else lol... anyway sorry for the confusion... :-(
