Digital sound

i bet this is a easy one but i cant seem to find it on xbmc site, i simply want digital output when watching dvd, i have a hd pack and im using optical to my reciever but when i attempt to change the signal in my video options it wont change off analoge. if the solution is on the site please just link it. thx

first of all you have to activate dolby digital (and dts) in the m$ dashoard. after that you should be able to change from analog to digital.
