minor suggestion is that the client area where the folders etc are displayed is much smaller than other skins resulting in less number of folders displayed. my suggestion would be to keep it in line with the defaults since more information could be displayed.

i absolutely love this skin!!
my only complaint is the same as san9jay's. i think the left bar should take less screen space so that the folders/files area can use more of it. everything else though, i love!
great work, hopefully more clean crisp designs like this will be made!

great skin, by far the best. does anyone else have problems with it crashing..?
the menu sometimes sticks and will not go back to the start screen.. i only have this with blackblue and none of the others..
this is an amazing skin - i can't reinforce how much i love it! i have changed some of the icons on my personal one to fir the giacomorilla icons i am currently working on (happy to share - pm me!) and have discovered something hinky.
when i look at local files, i don't see any icons. i can only see imdb images which i have downloaded. does anyone else have this issue?

i have uploaded and tested blackblue skin to xbmc 2004-03-01 int.
- new loock of the home and settings page
- the client area where the folders etc... are displayed, is very big (8 icons or 6 bigicons).
- the small videowindow is placed over the menu area.
- if you replace the original xml and media files by the xml and media files of folder alternate\xml and alternate\media, you have a classic loock of blackblue.
- compressed textures.

just tried the new build with the old blackblue, seems to work fine. i guess there will be a performance hit with the old skin!!

some ideas after using the latest blackblue...
for music visualization
1. have it so hitting "info" brings up the song info, and keeps it up until "info" is hit again...
2. have it display track number with the track title, as opposed to "track 04"
3. only scroll text if it needs to be scrolled
4. when the last character of scrolled text is finally visable, have it stop scrolling instead of scrolling all the way off.
5. display the track time between the cd image and the current play/pause state icon
for video playback:
1. press play displays the playtime and the total time, with a default dissapear time like now, but also allow play to be hit again to remove the time info.
i have some more ideas too, but i forgot them... i'll post them when i remember them =)

i'm running a build from 2004-04-03, and i noticed that the blackblue skin doesn't work anymore. it starts, but a lot of the options in the settings menus doesn't work. i really love this skin, especially the "classic" version. any plans on updating it?
things have been completley revamped, which is why it doesn't work.
not really answering your question, but oh well.

hey leonardo, do you have any plans of updating the classic blackblue so that it works with the new version of xbmc? that skin have always been my favorite, and while i do like the new look i still feel that the classic look is (was) the best one out there.

i have to point two versions of the skin blackblue.
- the classic, with the photographies in the home page, the classic backgrounds and the overlay music-video in black.
- the new, with icons in the home page, bakcgrounds similar to the xme and overlay music-video own.
nevertheless in both versions the menus home and settings they will be horizontal instead of vertical.
any suggestion will be received well.
well, i think that the old vertical look was better, so my suggestion would be to revive the old vertical menu again. three different versions of the skin, maybe?
either way, it's a great skin.
in order of preference i would have to say:
classic (with photographs instead of icons) in vertical mode is the best look. a close second is the classic with horizontal menu. not being critical of your excellent work, but i really don't like the the new icons. the photograph style pictures is what made this skin look that extra bit more professional. but that's just one persons opinion and should no way detract you from the excellent skinning you have done :)
keep up the good work, and please let us know if you are planning on bringing back the classic look with vertical menus :)

well i have brought back the vertical menu, and made over ninty changes to the skin. the name changed to keep it seperate from leonardos, and we have agreed to join together for future releases. some major changes are memory saving, this skin should run in a lot less memory than before.

i used mine 4-19 version but it's kinda buggy at this one can't change my skin to the older one can go to music... kinda weird u peeps have this too?

you (and all all other open source skinners) can you the xbmc skinning project on sf.net (http://sourceforge.net/projects/xboxmediacenter) to host files, plus it also has (1) website capability

like your skin very much, i've been dying to get some look to my media center since most skins are completely broken with new builds...
but what i would want is the album cover to be shown during mp3 playback. and it looks like here would be plenty of room to fit it to the left bottom corner... could you possible implementi this? pretty please? :bowdown:

haven't yet tested, will asap. but by looking at the screenshot, seems it's just what i was looking for!
btw, the more i use your skin, the more i love it. the readability is great, not to mention overall clearness: simple white font on blue/black background, perfect.

just tested, looks good! :)
i do though have 2 suggestions:
1. make the album covers displayed during playback a little bigger, there's still "wasted" space above and on the sides. maybe the same width as the "now playing"-text?
2. move the transparent background texts (music, pictures...) a little higher, so that they won't be covered by the black info bar during music playback.
other than that, awesome. i don't even use music visualizations anymore :o

answering to your suggestions:
1.- i cannot make them bigger, since they are superposed by the options of the menus (my files, playlist, etc..).
2.- you them can fit to your taste changing into references.xml the control "default image" tag <posy>.

thanks for the great skin. black blue has always been my favorite for the clean and clear design. *i'm using the skin with a 2.5" lcd, so the readability with other skins is a big issue for me. i'm glad to have an updated version.
could you create a background(3.png) for the trailer script from darkie?
and maybe add the psd and font so we can create other sections ourselves for different scripts :)

i like this skin better then any for xbmc i've seen! this is the skin i use! it is easy to read on the tv screen and simple and elegant.
do you plan on any enhancements?
there are a few things i'd love to see to make it more remote control and touchscreen friendly.
if you are interested in doing some mods, i'd love to give some ideas!

music control buttons (play, pause, previous, next, stop, etc)
change weather navitagion:
weather menu have choices for the cities instead of needing to scroll through them... or at least move the scroll arrows onto the left side menu so it is easier to use them.
add screen for music "now playing":
music screen that shows the album cover very large along with the album and song info. this could also be used for album info.
general usability:
have album and game titles word-wrap instead of being cut-off an needing to scroll.
these were my first thoughts ;) i'm sure i'll think of some others.
