i have a very recent build.
over the smb share i have, from time to time i get video files of no specific codec that wont play. this covers the range of divx, xvid, mpeg ii and so forth. i know the files are not corrupted as gspot analysis shows them to be ok. sometimes rather than not playing the video file, xbmc would freeze all together.
i couldnt figure it out and grabbed the latest build of xbmc, deleted my 0face008 saves and did a new fresh install. no fix.
after alot of time i found if i put the cache sizes down by half, except for those that were allready at 256. then all the problem files played. why is this? is the default cache settings not right?
one thing is i do upsample the videos to 1080i and perhaps this puts a drain on the xbox?
anyway i hope this might help other people and i'd appreciate any comment.....im in the dark about the right cache sizes and perhaps i can optimise it further.
also i have disabled the ftp and web servers.
