i've just installed a bigger hdd in my xbox and it seems to work fine for my modchip (spice), evox and dvd2xbox but not for xbmc.
xbmc shows the f-drive in the file manager but i can't do anything with it. it doesn't show the size nor any data on it.
does anyone know what's going on??????
i've configured the xml file to activate the drive and xbmc shows it but unusable .....

in xboxmediacenter.xml, make sure <autodetectfg>yes</autodetectfg>
is set to no

i've tried all possible combinations of these parameters ..
currently they are set to
<autodetectfg>no</autodetectfg>
<usefdrive>no</usefdrive>
<usegdrive>no</usegdrive>

but still no joy ....

i've set changed the disk section to read:
<autodetectfg>no</autodetectfg>
<usefdrive>yes</usefdrive>
<usegdrive>no</usegdrive>

and set the log level to 0, the logfile then shows:

01-07-2005 22:10:09 debug startwindow: 0
01-07-2005 22:10:09 debug autodetectfg: no
01-07-2005 22:10:09 debug usefdrive: yes
01-07-2005 22:10:09 debug usegdrive: no
01-07-2005 22:10:09 debug usepcdvdrom: no
.

01-07-2005 22:10:10 info map drives...
01-07-2005 22:10:10 info map drive c:
01-07-2005 22:10:10 info map drive e:
01-07-2005 22:10:10 info map drive d:

01-07-2005 22:10:10 info drives are mapped
01-07-2005 22:10:10 notice remap q: to homedir:e:\apps\xbmc...

so it looks like it is doing everythign just fine, but i stll can't use the drive.
even stranger.... when i use dvd2xbox from evox, it shows the f-drive and i can write to it .... but when i use that same dvd2xbox from xbmc, it also shows the f-drive but i can't write to it .... try and figger that one out ...
evox and xbmc each load from their own .bin file created with evotools and with the same settings...

anyone ????

maybe you missed this combination:

<autodetectfg>no</autodetectfg>
<usefdrive>yes</usefdrive>
<usegdrive>no</usefdrive>

and it that fails maybe you missed this combination:

<autodetectfg>yes</autodetectfg>
<usefdrive>yes</usefdrive>
<usegdrive>no</usefdrive>

is there anyone out there who has got an idea on how to solve my problem with the f-drive?
i've currently got a work-around by installing evolutionx as a third dashboard and access the f-drive with my game backups from there. because xbmc still isn't able to work with the f-drive ...... :(

1. delete tdata/0face008 (do this from another app than xbmc)

restart xbmc, still problems?

then do 1 again and then:

reinstall another build of xbmc, which build is it that you are having issues with ?
