hi,

i am curious wheter the filezilla server can be tuned in a certain way. i've searched for xbfilezilla documentation but i can't find anything.

i'm especially looking for options to set huge cache sizes for transfers, because i would like to use the ftpfs recording option on my dbox2. when i try to record some encrypted channels (which get decrypted by the box/card) it says that the recording did not succeed because the files could not be written fast enough.

can anybody help me?
thanks

hi,

i found out that the reason why this problem occurs is actually relying on the code of filezilla 0.88 (on which xbfilezilla 1.4 is based on). i had the same problems when i installed filezilla server on my pc. then i tried the newest version, 0.95, which works very well with the recording. the speed is 100kb/s faster than with the 0.88 server. (850kb/s instead of 750kb/s).

is it possible to port the new filezilla server version to the xbox? it would be highly appreciated.

thanks and regards,
matthias

maybe someone could provide me some infos about making a xbfilezilla out of the "normal" filezilla?

thanks

i agree the difference between the 2 versions of filezilla is good enough to consider a port to xbox.

hi to all,

i really like xbmc, cool piece of software, so i use xbmc as a 24/7 ftp-server. but filezilla server 0.8.8 contains security vulnerabilities that are fixed in 0.9.8a. can we easily update to filezilla 0.9.8a?

the code is in cvs. take a look and see how easy you think it is.

also, the new filezilla supports mode-z. i'm not sure how much that can affect lan speeds but it should be interesting to try.

the new versions (0.9.0 and newer) also support 'ftp compression' which would be a great new feature.
