i have a retal xbox, i haven't taken out one screw and i seem to have less probs then some mod-chip scrubs.

i have read the faqs.

need mod-chip? - ha! i got xbmp and xbmc and more to work on my hacked xbox.

most xbox retail dvd-rom drives can't read cd-r (which really does not make sense since game system as old as the sega cd can read cd-r copies of music cds, any cd player can.), my xbox reads anything i through at it, if i burn it correctly!

there is one thing i can't do, copy xbox games from the xbox's d drive.

why? i speculate that microsoft makes their games special multisession dvds, . frist session is iso9660, the second is xiso. that is why when you pop an xbox dvd in a pc, a video pops up telling you that you must play this disc on a xbox.

the xbox retail bios and mod-chips(actually a third party made bios that lacks all of microsofts piracy protection.)
ignores the first session, and reads the second session, where all the game files are.

since i hacked my xbox, evox don't reconize my bios because it is a retail bios. it won't ingnore the first session, meaning i only see the video file. how to i play retail games? boot the xbox with a retail game in it, so that the game loads before the hack does. it's exactly like booting from a cd on pc. after all isn't the xbox a scaled down pc?

congradulations, you've "hacked" your xbox. you want a medal?

i don't really see why this post belongs on the xbmc forums. you've also got a lot of incorrect statements in that post. i'd reccomend that you go to http://www.xbox-scene.com/ read their faq's and post on their forums.
