after updating xbmc's version from 01-02-2005 to 12-03-2005 i noticed that mplayer's new version cant handle low quality mov streams well, apparently the sound playback is a bit delayed [2 or 3 secs late], which ofcourse affects scripts like aqtbrwoser and gamespot plus, if you set them on low quality or medium quality settings.

i tried to change quicktime's codecs versions, and it gave me the same prob, i erased the previous settings from the saves, and that didn't work too, i tried to rollback mplayer's version to a previous one that doesn't have the same problem [for example 01-02 and 15-01], the trailers worked perfectly, but mplayer crashed after stopping/end of the playback, and the progress bar dissapeared compleatly, there might be other complications too.... so that didn't work.

so can anyone please help me either fix the problem, or help me rollback mplayer's version without crashing, and it would be much appreciated.

thanks guys!
cheers.

the only thing that i know has changed in this respect is the addition of the autosync=30 in mplayer.conf. try disabling that and see if that makes it work again. it could cause problems i suppose. if that is the case, maybe we should only enable it on demand or have a way from osd to disabled it atleast.

i managed to rollback mplayer's version and avoid any complications, i know that this is not a solution its a workaround, but i think its better than nothing.

when you rollback mplayer it crashes right after you exit playback, right? well this is what you do, you have to make 2 copies of mplayer, one inside the q:\system\players\ and another one in the old location q:\mplayer\ this way its all gonna work out fine, [you might want to adjust the vob sub size in the video options to get the subs and the progress bar in place]

anyways, if somebody finds a better solution please post it :agree:

cheers

did you try the fix i told you about which has solved the issue for most other. way better than using an old dll with new xbmc as that is absolutly not supported and can cause many problems

yeah, i thought so too, i looked in the change logs and found that that might be the only thing that could have caused such a bug, but i didn't pay much attention to it since i didn't know how to "configure" it.

but i'll look into it in mplayer.conf and tell you what happened asap...

thanks for your reply, and sorry i didn't notice your post when i posted my last entry.

cheers!

guess what! it worked, i commented out autosync=30 and it worked, thanks man, if it wasn't for you i wouldn't have noticed it and i would have porpably kept it like that for a really long time, finally i got rid of the old mplayer dll!

thanks again guys.
